What's the difference between benchmark and observation-only competitors?

Each competitor has a “Use as benchmark” toggle on the Competitors page:

  • Benchmark — this competitor’s prices are factored into your pricing recommendations. These count toward your plan’s benchmark competitor limit.
  • Observation-only — you can still see their prices, but they won’t affect your recommendations. No plan limit applies.

New competitors you add manually start as benchmark competitors. Competitors discovered automatically through product matching start as observation-only — you decide whether to use them as benchmarks after reviewing match quality.
